The Navy’s Dry Combat Submersible (DCS) is a new small submersible operated by a crew of 2 and capable of transporting 8 additional passengers. The DCS has 3 internal compartments, but only the command compartment has a network to monitor and control the vehicle. The compartments can be physically isolated and may be at different total pressures during operations. Means to network the 3 internal compartments, passing communications, data, and display information are needed. Additional physical penetrations of the hatches or DCS hull are not desirable. RF emissions that can be collected outside the DCS are not desirable. Design, prototyping, and demonstrations of an internal networking system are desired.
