2018 USCG 01 Mass Rescue Devices
Mass Rescue Operations (MRO) at sea are Search and Rescue (SAR) operations responding to large numbers of persons in distress (100-500 persons). The U. S. Coast Guard and other maritime rescue entities need the ability to deploy, in remote maritime areas, compact, lightweight, large-capacity floating devices to get survivors out of the water and reduce their exposure to the environment for limited durations. The devices will normally be deployed from SAR aircraft.
