2018 NSW-24 SDV External Charge Device
Presently, the Navy’s SEAL Delivery Vehicles (SDV) conducting maritime attack missions employ large explosive devices that are cumbersome and difficult to emplace. In WW II, the UK Royal Navy operated small submersibles with explosive “clamshells” externally attached to the sub’s hull. Concepts for more efficient ways to transport, deploy, and place one or more large explosive charges from a SDV vehicle are desired.
